About Me

My dad had a passion for marketing. He owned his own marketing business for 40+ years. Late last year, my dad lost a battle to cancer. I’ve decided to continue his mission of spreading knowledge of marketing practices and his reoccurring reminder of how important it is to focus on your customers. His advice still resonates well with me:

Everything marketing starts and ends with your customers… cater to them, listen to them and react to them. The results will amaze you.

I have a product background in technology over the last 15+ years. Besides working directly with customers to understand their processes and use cases, I spend significant time working with marketing our products. Marketing has been a big part of my role, along with coordinating business operations, engineering, roadmaps, and finance. Building and presenting roadmaps for technology is the most exciting part of customer engagement. This is where you present the technology you plan to build and gather feedback on aspects most interesting to the customer. I don’t necessarily enjoy the talking part of the presentation. I enjoy the listening part. After months of customer research to build a roadmap, these customer engagements either validate or provide additional insight on their pain points. Getting a more intimate understanding of the customer pain points really help to target the right solutions for the right segments of customers. Gathering feedback from presentations and through other channels of feedback, I can prioritize my time communicating to the right segments through customer webinars, speaking engagements, blogging, and social media.
